Music has always been a vital part of any film. With the rise of pan-Indian cinema, its importance has only grown, becoming almost the backbone of a project. Music directors now play a key role in shaping early buzz and drawing audiences toward a film. At the same time, however, they are sometimes held responsible for delays in a film’s completion, often facing criticism for not delivering on schedule.
Coming to the topic, Nani and director Srikanth Odela are currently busy with the works of The Paradise. The film marks their second collaboration after the successful Dasara. Music director Anirudh Ravichander is composing the soundtrack, marking his first collaboration with Odela. Anirudh has already started on a strong note, delivering an electrifying BGM for the first glimpse, while the song “Aya Sher” has turned into an instant chartbuster.
As the film’s shoot and production activities are progressing at a fast pace, the team is actively working to complete the remaining tasks. The makers have already confirmed that the film will hit the screens on August 21st, and the ongoing work is moving quickly to meet the planned release schedule.
However, Nani and Odela will have to secure Anirudh’s dates well in advance to ensure the re-recording work begins immediately after the shoot wraps up, as it will be a crucial step in delivering the film on time.
For instance, Ram Charan’s Peddi was supposed to have a release on the occasion of Ram Charan’s birthday last month, but the film got postponed to April 30. Even now, there is uncertainty around the film’s release, and the talk on social media is that the delay in re-recording is not giving a clear picture as to when the film will get ready.
AR Rahman, who is scoring music for Peddi, is simultaneously working on the mega project Ramayana. Despite attempts, the balance between the two projects seems to be missing, resulting in rumors about Peddi missing the deadline.
A similar theory may attributed to The Paradise now on social media. Anirudh is a busy music director like Rahman who works on multiple films at a time. He is currently working on Jailer 2, which will hit the screens around August 14th, a week before the planned release of The Paradise.
Since the timelines of both projects are more or less the same, there could be work going on for both films in parallel, and sometimes, there could even be an overlap. Even though recent Tamil media reports hinted that Jailer 2 may get postponed to July, it may also arrive close to the Paradise release window.
So, Odela is actually expected to hold Anirudh firmly such that the work gets completed in a phased manner, leaving no room for unexpected and unforeseen delays.
Having said that, the reality is that any amount of tight planning can sometimes backfire, but it is always good to complete work well in advance for better release planning. The better Odela plans it in advance, the better it can help the film as a whole.
