Peddi’s June 4 Release in One Man’s Hands?

Peddi now finds itself in an interesting position after Toxic vacated the June 4 release slot. With the date suddenly opening up, many believe this could be the perfect opportunity for Peddi to arrive in theatres, especially considering the advantage of summer holidays and a strong overseas market window.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and also starring Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyendu Sharma, the film has reportedly accelerated its post-production work in recent days. However, industry buzz suggests that one key person could ultimately decide whether the film makes it to June 4, it is none other than music maestro A. R. Rahman.

Rahman is currently said to be working on the film’s second-half re-recording, and the smooth completion of the background score within the next two weeks is considered crucial for the release plan.

Given the scale of the film and the importance of RR in elevating emotional and mass moments, the makers are not willing to compromise on quality.

The challenge, however, is Rahman’s packed schedule, as he is simultaneously working on multiple prestigious projects, including Ramayana. Despite that, reports indicate that Peddi is currently receiving priority due to its nearing completion.

If Rahman manages to complete the final score on time, June 4 could very well become Peddi’s release date. One needs to see how all this unfolds in the days to come. Depending on all this, the makers will speed up promotions.

Reportedly, the makers are yet to issue any official clarification, either through an announcement or a press meet. If Peddi locks June 4 as its release date, the expected box office storm could arrive much sooner than anticipated, catching the trade and audience off guard.
