Watch: AI Filmmaking Is A Mess Without Human Control

AI based filmmaking is slowly turning into a serious discussion in Indian cinema and Telugu short film Rajugari Biryani is becoming a strong example for it. The makers revealed how they used multiple AI tools along with manual filmmaking techniques to create the ambitious project.

The team explained that AI is only a tool and cannot replace human creativity. From script writing to final editing, every stage still needed human involvement, especially for emotions, storytelling and visual consistency.

The film was reportedly made through a frame by frame process with nearly 15000 to 20000 frames generated using AI models. A major portion of those frames needed manual corrections to maintain continuity in characters, lighting and camera composition.

Popular AI tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, NanoBanana, Cling and 11Labs were used during different stages of production. While Midjourney helped with visual style and character design, 11Labs supported dubbing and voice generation with emotional variations.

The makers admitted that video generation remains the toughest and costliest part in AI filmmaking. Even a small shot required multiple attempts and some scenes reportedly took over 80 to 90 iterations to achieve proper output and continuity.

Despite the challenges, the team believes AI filmmaking can open doors for independent creators with limited budgets. Rajugari Biryani is now being discussed as a unique experiment that blends technology with traditional cinematic storytelling.
