Youth And Farmers: Modi Meets Biggest Challenge!

It has been more than 12 years since the formation of the NDA government at the centre and Prime Minister Modi had been serving in the office for as much time. So there is always this scope for Anti incumbency, which the government was able to luckily mitigate till now.

However, things have been changing drastically over the last few days as the Modi government is facing a series of significant challenges.

First, it was the youth protest that was committed by the cockroach party at the famous Jantar Mantar protest Ground, Delhi. The indefinite hunger strike of Sonam Wangchuk was somehow obstructed by Delhi Police, but this did not stop the actual movement.

The cockroach party movement is likely to reach the Indian Parliament and it has the support of the youth, which is evident in the videos that are circulating on social media.

The most prominent thing about this protest is that it is able to connect with the younger generation of the common public on social media. This could potentially be a game changer in the next general election that would be coming up.

The way the police handled certain situation at this protest by performing lathicharge on students did not go well with the largest section of the youth as they did not like this oppressive system.

On top of that, we have the ongoing farmers that has started from Punjab. This protest is regarding the trade agreement between India and United States, which the farmers say is not in favour of the Indian farming community.

This farmers group has also started this protest on a large scale and they are marching towards Delhi. Local Police have started to mitigate the procession by enforcing strict security arrangements at every place, but considering the aggressive approach of the Punjab farming community, they are bound to break these shackles.

This would certainly be one of the toughest passages for Modi in the office as he is facing two parallel protests. While one is obviously regarding the youth of the country, which is being led by the cockroach party, the other is from Punjab farmers.

Youth and farmers are the two deciding factors of the Indian electoral outcome, and both of them appear to be protesting against the incumbent government. It has to be seen what would be the outcome from here.
