Despite several odds, the much-needed and most-awaited infrastructure project Bhogapuram International Airport became a reality. It is touted to be a game-changing project capable of transforming the economic landscape of AP and Uttarandhra, much like Hyderabad’s Shamshabad airport did for Telangana.
While the Rs 5640-Crore Bhogapuram Airport project involved the efforts of many stakeholders over the years, Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu played a key role in ensuring that the airport was completed on time. For Rammohan Naidu, Bhogapuram Airport was not just another infrastructure project but a dream project for his home region. Despite many hurdles, he remained committed to making it a reality.
After becoming the Union Civil Aviation Minister, Rammohan Naidu made the Bhogapuram Airport one of his top priorities. As a leader from Uttarandhra, Naidu closely monitored the project, held regular review meetings and coordinated with the Central government, the Andhra Pradesh government, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the developer to speed up the work.
The Bhogapuram Airport project faced several challenges and delays, but Rammohan Naidu continued to push for faster execution. He worked to resolve issues, secured support from the Centre and ensured that the required approvals were completed without delay. His constant follow-up helped keep the project on schedule.
With the airport now ready for operations, Bhogapuram stands as a milestone for Andhra Pradesh’s growth. Many believe Rammohan Naidu’s consistent efforts as Union Civil Aviation Minister, regular monitoring and strong coordination with the Central government played an important role in turning the long-pending project into reality.
