United States president, Donald Trump has been doing everything in his power to trouble the international immigration population in the country. He is back on the job again as he is elevating the visa extension fees for certain visa categories now.
According to the latest reports, Trump administration is tightening H-1B rules by adding a new fee for visa extensions.
Earlier, this fee applied only to new H-1B and L-1 visas and hence, the new change could raise costs for US companies trying to keep foreign employees and is likely to impact Indian professionals.
Evidently, Trump administration plans to impose hefty new fees on H-1B and L-1 visa extensions, requiring employers to pay thousands of dollars with every renewal, not just for new hires or job transfers.
Indians constituted the highest recipients of the H1B work permit visa for the year 2025 in the United States. So this new change in role regarding elevated fees could ultimately affect the Indian population to a greater extent.
This comes just few days after Trump received a significant shock from a lower court, which imposed a pause on his $100,000 fee for H1B applications. Trump appears to be finding new ways to draw trouble the Indian community, and also the international working group with new rules every other week.
