Fans Unconvinced by Fauzi Designers’ AI Explanation?

The first-look poster for Prabhas’ Fauzi, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, has continued to spark debate over the use of Artificial Intelligence. Now, popular publicity designers Anil and Bhanu clarified in an interview with Gulte that they have used AI, but it was limited. 

They stated that AI was used only for the background elements and not for Prabhas’ face or his body. They also clarified that the entire scene is in the film and is not just for the sake of it. They removed a few areas in the background of the poster through AI after feeling it was looking a bit messy. 

Their statement came after several movie lovers questioned the authenticity of the poster and pointed out AI-like visuals. However, fans feel that even if AI was used only for the background, its effect is visible across the poster, and the overall design gives an AI-generated look.

Social media discussions show that many users are unhappy with the growing dependence on AI in film posters and promotional material. Going back in time, Prabhas’ previous film The Raja Saab also faced criticism for its use of digitally altered images. Because of that, Prabhas fans are now more sensitive whenever they spot AI elements in promotional content.

In all this, even experienced designers are increasingly adopting such tools. While AI can save time and enhance creativity, designers should carefully study audience reactions and then design these first looks. At the end of the day, fans still value originality, which is missing these days in such looks. 

At the same time, the designers’ clarification deserves to be taken into consideration. AI is increasingly becoming part of modern poster designing, and using it for limited background corrections does not necessarily take away from the overall creative effort. Ultimately, the final poster is a collaborative process, and the designers’ intent appears to have been to enhance the visual rather than replace genuine creativity.
