Ilaiyaraaja is giving up on his dream!

Setting up a music university has been the dream of Maestro Ilaiyaraaja for a long time. However, it looks like he gave up on that dream now as he said that he is not going to request anyone to help him setting up the institution.

In his recent media interaction held at his new studio, Ilaiyaraaja said, “I’ve requested Karunanidhi to set up a music university when he was the Chief Minister. But it didn’t happen until now. Currently, I have no interest in requesting anyone further.”

“Some of the musical instruments which were used in the past have become extinct now. I wanted to bring those instruments back to life and teach the present generation about our vast musical culture. I explained the same to Karunanidhi and he passed a GO regarding it as well. But it hasn’t become a reality until now,” he added.

That is the reason why Ilaiyaraja gave up on requesting people about setting up the university.

When asked about how is his journey going on after composing music for almost 1300 films, Raaja said that it is moving at a rapid pace than ever.

He also added that he has set up a new studio and is busy with a lot of projects in hand.
