Director Gokul announced the sequel to his 2013 film Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara last year. He also named the sequel as Corona Kumar. The Kollywood buzz now suggests that Silambarasan has signed as the lead hero of this movie.
The original version featured Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. It is heard that he will be reprising his role of Moonji Kumar from the original and make a special appearance in this second part. Touted to be an out-and-out comedy entertainer like its predecessor, this movie is all set to go on the floors very soon.
Simbu has recently wrapped up the shooting part of his upcoming film Maanadu, which is being directed by Venkat Prabhu. The post-production works are going at a rapid pace now. It may hit the screens in a couple of months.
The Manmadha actor is also working for Gautam Menon’s directorial film Nadhigalile Neeradum Suriyan. An official announcement about Corona Kumar is expected to be made soon. The details of the rest of the cast and crew are expected to be out at the same time as its announcement.
