SP Balasubrahmanyam Gets A Fitting Tribute In Melbourne

It has been almost a year since iconic singer SP Balasubrahmanyam has left this world. Even now, many people feel that he is still around us. Such is the popularity of his songs, which we hear almost every day.

Meanwhile, the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) decided to pay a tribute to SPB in its 2021 edition.

Some of the accomplished musicians of Melbourne like, Lakshmy Ramaswamy, Kaushik Ganesh, Anoop Divakaran, and Malavika Harish will be performing SPB songs live at the Fed Square on August 15.

According to the Deccan Chronicle, the festival’s director Mitu Bhowmick Lange said, “S.P. Balasubrahmanyam’s magical voice captivated listeners across the world as he captured every human emotion in his music with effortless grace. Our love and respect for him are beyond words, and we are honoured to pay tribute to the evergreen singer of Indian cinema music.”

The 2021 edition of IFFM will begin on August 12 and ends on August 20. It will be a hybrid event (online and offline) this year.
