Kurup Sets A Rare Youtube Record In Telugu

Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan enjoys a decent fan following in the Telugu states. He shot to fame in Tollywood with the movies like Ok Bangaram, Mahanati, and Kanulu Kanulanu Dochayante. He is also currently working on a film under the direction of Telugu filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi.

Meanwhile, Dulquer’s next release will be a crime thriller titled Kurup. The teaser of this movie was released a few months back. The Telugu version of this teaser has set up a new record by clocking two million views on Youtube.

This is the first-ever teaser of any Telugu dubbed Malayalam film to get more than two million views on the video-streaming platform. That proves the popularity of Dulquer among Telugu audiences.

Kurup is based on the life of one of the dreaded criminals of Kerala, Sukumara Kurup. Sunny Wayne, Indrajith Sukumaran, Shobitha Dhulipalla, and Manoj Bajpayee are playing the other lead roles in it. Srinath Rajendran is directing the film.

The film was supposed to hit the screens on May 28th but it stands postponed due to the ongoing lockdown in Kerala. It is heard that the film may have a direct OTT release soon in Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil languages.
