Tollywood personalities who landed in Amaravati to meet AP CM YS Jagan have got an unexpected shock from the protesting farmers who demanded the support of Telugu film industry for the ongoing protest to retain capital.

The protesting farmers have blocked way for the likes of Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Rajamouli, Dil Raju, Suresh Babu and others and demanded their support to the cause.

The protesting farmers have raised the slogans saying that the capital doesn’t just belong to farmers but the capital belongs to everyone. The farmers went onto question the film industry bigwigs why they don’t care for farmers and capital. “They need lands to build studios. But they are not bothered about capital issues,” said an angry protesting farmer.

Amaravati region farmers have been protesting for the last 175 days against AP state government’s decision to shift administrative capital to Vizag and trifurcation of the capital.

While maintaining that they are not against film personalities, Amaravati farmers are expecting the support of the film industry to their reasonable demand. The agitating farmers raised the slogan of ‘One State, One Capital’.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi who spoke to the media ahead of meeting with CM Jagan stated that Tollywood is expecting sops from the government as encouragement. He said the Telugu film industry needs support of the government for its progress.

On the other hand, it can be noted that Chiranjeevi had earlier appreciated CM Jagan’s decision to trifurcate the capital and supported the decentralization and inclusive development. Chiru’s statement had not gone well with the protesting farmers earlier.
