At a time when she was supposed to be the next big diva of Tollywood post the success of her Dhruva with Ram Charan, gorgeous siren Rakul Preet Singh opted for a Bollywood career thereby giving up many big Telugu projects. And later, the actress tried to make it big here again, but somehow things are not working out as expected.
Rakul featured in some big flops like Manmadhudu 2 and NGK before the corona pandemic and she is said to have decided to not do glam roles in the Telugu industry. But then, movies like Check were offered to her, which didn’t help in any way. At the same time, she signed a bunch of films in Bollywood after De De Pyaar De but they haven’t pushed her into the big-league quickly. And now, she’s saying hello to Tollywood with Krish’s Kondapolam where she plays the role of Obulamma, a shepherd.
Barring Kamal Haasan and Shankar’s Indian 2, Rakul doesn’t have any big films in her kitty down the south and the actress is pinning hopes on the success of this offbeat role opposite Vaishnav Tej to restart her slowed down career in Tollywood. With the likes of Pooja Hegde, Rashmika Mandanna taking her place here in the star league, we have to see if Rakul could outshine them all again.
