Telugu Girl Shot To Fame In Hollywood With Disney’s New Film

Rarely do we see Indian actors making it big in Hollywood. There are only a handful of Indian-origin actors who shot to fame in the American film industry. Now, a 16-year-old Telugu-born young girl is trending in the American OTT arena. She is Avantika Vandanapu, who starred in Disney’s new film Spin.

Before venturing into Hollywood, Avantika acted in Telugu films. She was seen in Mahesh Babu’s Brahmostavam, Chandrasekhar Yeleti’s Manamantha, and Naga Chaitanya’s Premam. Recently, she played the title role of an autistic girl in Netflix’s Tamil film, Bhoomika.

Spin premiered on Disney+ on August 13. It is available in India through Disney+Hotstar. It follows the story of Rhea (Avantika), an aspiring DJ from an Indian-American community. Since its release, Spin has been getting positive reviews and Avantika is being praised for her performance.

Avantika is highly excited and elated with her Hollywood debut. She is also a proficient Kuchipudi dancer. She was the winner of ATA Star Dancer 2012 and remained a runner-up in Dance India Dance Li’l Masters 2014. It is a proud moment for all the Telugu folks to see Avantika making it big in Hollywood at such a young age.
