#BiggBoss5: Sarayu’s Exit Proved a Thing About Youtube

Looking at the first-ever nominations of #BiggBoss Telugu Season 5, many thought Jessie and Hamida are at big risk owing to the fact that they are not so popular names. For some people, they didn’t even hear about these two though film industry folks know a bit about these two models. And then, here is an interesting catch.

Apparently, Sarayu is the most popular among the nominees last week if her YouTube fame is anything to go by. Her videos where she resorts to Telangana slang Telugu with a mix of cuss words amassed plenty of views with some videos crossing 1 million views just like that. Looking at that, many thought that the whole of her YouTube family will rally behind her, and take her to the finale week too. But nothing such has happened.

This explains the fact that the viewers who dwell on YouTube are different from the audience who watch Bigg Boss on TV (and the Hotstar app), and they don’t get influenced by YouTube fame when it comes to voting. Apparently, Sarayu’s negative thinking and changing her words regarding Jesse have worked completely negative for her, while Hamida and Jesse rode on sympathy wave big time.

And some say that maybe the Bigg Boss team might have intentionally voted out Sarayu because that makes audiences think that votes are not coming, and it might influence them to vote regularly for their favourite contestants. Whatever it may be, YouTube fame and social media stardom is not enough to make it in Bigg Boss house, thought it might get you an entry there.
