Chiranjeevi Expressed Regret Over Pawan’s Statements: Perni Nani

Amidst the ongoing uproar over Pawan Kalyan’s speech at Republic’s pre-release event and the counter attacks by YSRCP leaders, a team of Tollywood bigwigs today met AP minister Perni Nani in Machilipatnam. Top producers Dil Raju, DVV Danayya, Sunil Narang, Vamsi Reddy and Mythri Naveen and others met Nani and discussed the issues like reduced ticket rates, onine ticketing and 50 percent occupancy among others.

After the meeting, Nani addressed the media and made some startling revelations. He said that many top Tollywood producers and directors have been calling him since the last few days and telling him that they do not align with Pawan’s recent statements against the YS Jagan government.

Nani went on to reveal that Chiranjeevi has telephoned him from Ooty and expressed regret over Pawan’s statements. “Chiranjeevi garu said whatever happened at the event (Republic’s pre-release) was unfortunate and should not have happened. He told me that neither he nor Tollywood representatives agree with Pawan’s statements. He told me that he was shooting in Ooty and that he will talk to me in detail once he returns,” the minister said.

Nani further said he has assured the Tollywood representatives that the YSRCP government’s counter action will not depend on any particular individual’s personal comments. “I requested the industry seniors to state the facts if and when an individual tries to propagate lies against the government. I also assured them that I will convey all their concerns to the CM and facilitate a better resolution at the earliest,” said Nani.

Chiranjeevi is considered the torch bearer of Tollywood and a bridge between the industry and the government. Needless to say, Perni Nani’s revelation on Chiru expressing regret over his younger brother’s statements will further alienate Pawan Kalyan from the industry bigwigs. The big question now is – how long will Pawan carry on with his lone battle against Jagan?
