Priyanka Chopra: Director Casually Asked Me To Flash My Panties

Priyanka Chopra has tasted triumph like no other modern actress in Bollywood and she reached heights at a young age. When we say ‘like no other actress’, it’s apparent that Priyanka became a Global icon, working for a number of campaigns, and owning innumerable brands. And of course, she is living her dream of getting settled in NYC.

But just like anyone, the actress also had her share of struggles in her initial days. She had to deal with various kinds of mindsets in Bollywood, leaving her with some rather unpleasant memories. Priyanka often reveals her bitter moments and one among them that she shared recently is how a director (name undisclosed) casually asked her to flash her panties for a sensuous song sequence.

In her memoir Unfinished, Priyanka mentioned the weird incident when a filmmaker insisted on having an erotic song in order to attract the viewers. And the attraction is based on PeeCee’s panties, according to the director. “The director suggested I speak to my stylist, so I called him and briefly explained the situation, then passed the phone to the director. Standing right in front of me, the director said: “Jo bhi ho, chaddiyan dikhni chahiyen. Nahi toh log picture kyon dekhne aayenge?” she wrote.

As obvious, Priyanka has quit the film soon after. But what she said she regrets is she failed to give it back to the director right at the time when he was speaking about wanting to see her flash her panties. The actress also appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s show Super Soul and she once again spoke on the same incident. She said that “the director was sitting on his chair in a really entitled way, and then he takes the phone and goes, ‘Listen, people are going to come into the movies to watch her when she shows her panties. So it needs to be really short, so I can see her panties. You know those people sitting in the front? They should be able to see her panties”.

However, thanks to her humour she further ended on a light note that ”he said the word four times and it is not even pretty in Hindi. It is worse”. Her memoir also has the actress facing sexist remarks mentioned. She wrote that another director was clearly unimpressed with her body, despite being Miss World, and asked her to get certain parts “fixed.”
