For every film, there are certain types of audiences who would get connected instantly and love to watch it again and again. While there are huge fans to re-watch Pokiri multiple times, there are fans for Khaleja and Aagadu as well. Similarly, for some biopics like NTR’s Kathanayakudu and Savitri’s Mahanati, there is this separate section of fans.
Hindi version of Kangana Ranaut’s latest movie “Thalaivi” is right now enjoying a spot in the Top 10 films being watched in India on popular OTT platform Netflix. A section of urbane audiences aged from 24-35 are said to be watching Thalaivi a lot and they are watching it multiple times after the first screening. Wonder why? There is a special factor that actually draws them to the OTT platform on this particular film.
Apparently, Jayalalitha’s life is not much known to anyone, but educated urban audiences especially women always wonder how come Jaya has grown to that level in that age of MGR and Karunanidhi, in a complete male-dominant Tamil society and politics. Jaya’s raise in the patriarchal society along with the fact how MGR used her during his film career and in politics as well, got exposed completely in the film and that content is clicking with this urban audience a lot.
Directed by AL Vijay, Thalaivi was released in theatres recently and Kangana Ranaut was applauded for her flawless portrayal as Tamilnadu’s former Chief Minister late Jayalalitha.
