I Didn’t Come For Natyam’s Event For That Reason: Ram Charan

Kuchipudi dancer and actress Sandhya Raju’s Telugu debut film Natyam directed by debutant Revanth Korukonda celebrated its pre-release function today with mega power star Ram Charan gracing it as chief guest and Nandini Reddy, Swapna Dutt, Prashanth Varma and few others as special guests.

Revanth Korukonda said, “It’s a big achievement for me and my friends to get first ticket of Indra movie. Meeting Chiranjeevi sir and showing my film to him is a dream come true for me. I thank Ram Charan sir for all his support. I made my first YouTube video of Charan’s song 10 years ago. He watched the video, messaged me and asked details. He shared my details in Facebook. I got a big recognition.

When I was doing cinema trials, I got an offer to do lyrical video for Khaidi No 150, through DSP. I got many big film offers. It’s an extraordinary feel to get support of Charan sir for this film. I waited all these years to make a pure Telugu film.”

Sandhya Raju said, “I’m so happy for Ram Charan supporting my film. I’m so indebted to him for all his encouragement for last 10 years. He attended several stage shows of mine. When Kamal accepted to do this role, he doesn’t know classical dance. He learnt dance from me for almost one year. I’m completely satisfied as a teacher when everybody is saying Kamal did far better than me.”

Ram Charan said, “Me and my dad are very close to Sandhya Raju’s family. But I came here not for that reason. I happened to watch the movie and I wholeheartedly say that, I enjoyed every scene from start to end. I have this bad habit of falling asleep, while watching even industry hit movies. Under these circumstances, I was spellbound by performances, dances, drama and dialogues of the film. Music is a big asset for the film. It’s been long since I heard such a soulful music.

I met Sandhya Raju nearly 10 years ago. I watched her first stage performance. It was a big surprise for me that she became an actor and handled many departments. It’s not an easy task to act, produce choreograph and also design costumes for a film.

I hope, she will continue as actor and will get producers and directors for her next. We should take Sandhya and Revanth as examples to achieve our goals. I heard many films became hits in recent times. RRR is coming on January 7th.”
