The trailer of ‘Skylab’ featuring Nithya Menen, Satya Dev and Rahul Ramakrishna in the lead roles is out. The film is set in the late 1970s at Bandalingampally, a rural place in Telangana. Nithya plays Gauri, daughter of a Zamindar (Land Lord) but she makes a name for herself as a journalist.
Nithya works for Prathibhimbham magazine and she is in need of stories for the magazine. In parallel to her story, we have Satya Dev and Rahul’s friendship tale. Satya Dev is a doctor and wishes to set up a clinic in the village and Rahul is Subedhar Ramarao in the same village.
Just when we question what connection the title ‘Skylab’ has with three persons i.e, Gauri, Anand and Ramarao, an announcement in radio makes proceedings curious. NASA’s Skylab in space gets damaged and parts of the lab may fall on earth and particularly in the village of Bandalingampally.
Gauri gets a story for the magazine while Anand and Ramarao want to make money with the parts of Skylab. Rest of the villagers are worried about their lives. The trailer is hilarious in its latter half yet it makes an interesting watch with a good story.
‘Skylab’ is directed by Vishvak Khanderao and he penned the story based on real events. Also with this film, actress Nithya Menen is turning producer and she picked up an author backed role and content rich film like always.
The film will be releasing on December 4th in theatres.
