For a long time, senior producer Suresh Babu always wanted his Ramanaidu Studios to become the technology hub of the Telugu industry but Nagarjuna owned Annapurna Studios achieved that feat when it comes to post-production facilities. Though the Daggubati scion started a few VFX ventures, he has later given them to other studios. But then, his tryst with this technical stuff never stops.
Right now, Suresh Babu is focusing on bringing VR technology as well as advanced Unreal Engine software technology to Hyderabad if reports are to be believed. This technology was already used to create realistic environments for films like Pushpa and also for Bheemla Naayak title-song video that was first released.
However, Chennai based studios owned by a couple of cinematographers have done the job. And now, Suresh is said to have purchased ten workstations that cost nearly a crore and is experimenting with this technology.
As part of the experiments, everything related to a film will be shot with actors performing in front of a green screen only. All the backgrounds will be realistically created in Unreal Engine.
Of course, films like Avatar have done it long back, but this is new to India and with Unreal Engine being an open-source platform, everyone is experimenting with it. We have to see how this new venture of Suresh Babu works out.
