This director made Rajinikanth cry

Superstar Rajinikanth scored a blockbuster with his latest release Annaatthe. This is the first film in the combination of Siva and Rajini. The actor was elated on working with Siva and shared his experiences of Annaatthe through a voice note and posted it on Hoote App.

“Petta and Vishwasam were released during the same time. Both films went on to become super hits at the box office. I contacted Vishwasam’s producer and asked him to arrange a screening for me. During the first half, I wondered what is so special in this movie that it became a huge hit. But towards the climax, the film’s ‘colour’ was changed I was in awe. I ended up clapping after finishing the film. I later congratulated producer Thyagarajan and told him that I am interested in talking to Siva,” Rajini explained.

“I liked Siva right after our first conversation. He spoke very innocently and honestly. I asked him if he has any story for me and told him that we have to score a hit like Vishwasam,” the actor further added.

Apparently, Siva told Rajini that making a hit film with him is very easy. Rajini stated that no other director made such a statement with him before. He liked Siva’s confidence. Siva completed the script in 20 days and went to meet Rajinikanth.

“He gave me the narration for more than two hours. I was in tears after hearing the script. I asked Siva to make the film the same way he narrated it to me. He promised that he will make it better than the narration. As promised, he delivered me a super hit,” stated Rajini.

Annaatthe featured Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Meena and Kushboo in the other pivotal roles.
