Incidentally, both these films had a direct digital release on Amazon Prime Video.
Meanwhile, Jai Bhim has now broken another record as it became the highest-ranked film on IMDb as of now with a rating of 9.6, with 73k votes.
This courtroom drama surpassed the rating of movies like The Shawshank Redemption (9.3 with 2.5 million votes) and The Godfather (9.2 with 1.7 million votes).
The other films that are featured in the Top 10 list include Schindler’s List, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Pulp Fiction, and Inception.
Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Jai Bhim is inspired by a real-life court case that happened in Tamil Nadu during the early 1990s. Suriya’s character is inspired by a former judge of the Madras High Court, Justice Chandru.
Suriya and Jyotika have jointly bankrolled Jai Bhim under the banner of 2D Entertainment.
