Does Thaman Really Need Crores Of Rupees Pay?

There is this pretty routine remark on many technicians who charge exorbitant prices for a film and one of them is none other than why happening composer SS Thaman charges a couple of crores for each film he does. According to industry buzz, he is charging anywhere between 2.5 to 3.5 crores for films of Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu.

No matter what, Thaman’s songs and background score played a major in the success of many films like Ala Vaikuntapurramlo, Vakeel Saab and many more. If we see Raviteja’s Krack without Thaman’s BGM, then the feeling would have been quite different, so is the result. Anyway, rather than beating in the bush, let’s ask Thaman about this.

When quizzed about his high pay, the talented composer said, “Producers pay me what I deserve because they know the impact of my music. They are not fools to pay me hefty sum, if my music is not working. As there is demand, I command the price I feel justified”.

On the other hand, whatever the package that is offered to Thaman, is not for all himself. Actually, he has to pay almost 50% of it to his sound engineers, popular mix engineer Shadab Rayeen, popular singers, professional music instrument players and many.
