Sirivennala Seetharama Sastry
The music industry is mourning the death of legendary lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry who breathed his last on Tuesday due to health complications. Music maestro Ilaiyaraaja has paid emotional tributes to Sirivennela and added that late Veturi made me fall in love with Telugu language but Sirivennela made me respect the language.
“Seetharamudu.. You travelled with songs, fought with them and made everyone fall in love with them, get mesmerised and so his songs live with us. If Veturi introduced me to Telugu language, Sirivennela showed me how to respect the language,” commented Ilaiyaraaja.
Further the music composer added, “Thank you my friend. But I’m let down by your untimely passing away. You lived for the songs and penned them till you were alive. I pray to Lord Shiva to give you peace.”
It was a heart-touching send off by Ilaiyaraaja and it shows the admiration the composer had on the lyricist.
