Shyam Singha Roy Is A Jersey For Me: Producer

Natural Star Nani’s most awaited flick Shyam Singha Roy will have its Royal Event to be celebrated on 14th of this month in Warangal. In the meantime, the makers are promoting the movie aggressively, as release date is fast approaching. Producer Venkat Boyanapalli revealed few interesting facts during his interaction with scribes.

Is Shyam Singha Roy one or two characters?

Shyam Singha Roy is a single character, though there’s another character in the movie. It’s a beautiful love story.

Did you feel stressful, as budget increased for different reasons?

I’ve been in the industry for 12 years. Honestly, I never felt stressful. Nani gave me this opportunity, as I was waiting to work with him for 3 years. I feel fortunate to have made my production debut with Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy. It’s a Jersey for me. Yes, budget increased due to covid and as sets damaged because of heavy rains. But that didn’t bother me much. At the end of the day, I feel happy that I made a good movie.

There are several big-ticket films releasing before and after the release of SSR, what do you say about it?
It’s a different film. We have our own space and we have our own set of audience. We don’t have theatre problems as well, since Dil Raju and few other bigwigs are releasing it in different regions. The film will have big release in USA as well.

What’s the backdrop and timeline of the movie?

The film is set in Kolkata backdrop in 1970s. It will take us back to that period, thanks to wonderful sets and wonderful narration. It’s an inspiring love story.

Where did the shoot take place?

We initially shot the movie in a village 400 kms away from Kolkata. Then, huge sets were constructed in Hyderabad for other portions.

Why are you releasing the movie in all south languages?

The film’s story has universal appeal and everyone will relate to it, and there’s no language barrier for it. I hope this will be remade in Hindi.

How’s it working with Nani?

There won’t be any stress working with Nani. I was one of the production partners of Nani’s Krishnarjuna Yudham. I really felt comfortable working with him. I then decided to make my first production with Nani and it’s a dream come true for me to make Shyam Singha Roy with Nani.

The producer further says, “We need to trust people. Nani believed the story and director Sankrityan and I believed Nani.”
