Pushpa Mistake: Udayabhanu’s Comeback Became Comedy

For years, we have seen Suma hosting almost all the pre-release events and success celebrations of both big and small films. Because at one point, though Jhansi and Udayabhanu also sounded like better options, Jhansi plunged more into an acting career while Udayabhanu took a break from work post-pregnancy. And now, Udayabhanu is trying to make a strong comeback.

After hosting a couple of interviews with Balayya for Akhanda promotions, this superfluous and talented anchor other day turned up at Tirupathi to host Allu Arjun’s Pushpa success celebrations. But her comeback became a comedy as she misread the collections of the film. Instead of saying that the film collected ₹ 203 crores gross, she read it as 2003 crores gross and now the anti-Bunny brigade is having a field day.

While the trolling is targeted at Bunny, in the end, it is Udayabhanu who is getting blamed by people on sides for making that error. One should however understand the fact that when she’s back to hosting after a long time and handling such a huge crowds in Tirupathi on the stage, few mistakes are bound to happen, and the ‘trending’ brigade should not make a big scene out of that.

When everyone knows how much a film would collect and how much Pushpa collected, why would Udayabhanu intentionally say that it collected ₹ 2003 crores, as the likes of Baahubali hasn’t even made half of it.
