The festival season is set to burden the travelers with APSRTC hiking the fares by 50 percent. This hike in fares will be effective from January 7th to January 17th which is the peak time people travel to and fro within the Telugu states.
Eyeing the festival season, APSRTC announced deploying 1266 special buses to multiple locations in AP and Telangana. 362 buses will be operating between Vijayawada and Hyderabad which is the prime route for many travelers. This hike would certainly benefit the APSRTC immensely which is going through tough times since the beginning of the pandemic.
However, this hike of APSRTC by the YCP government is being questioned by one and all in the wake of movie ticket prices row. Jagan government is absolutely stubborn from increasing the movie ticket prices and in fact is holding raids in theatres and seizing them if found defying the government orders.
The Tollywood producers made multiple representations to the state government so far to reconsider the ticket prices. Yet the state government is unmoved and many YCP ministers are counter attacking people who are questioning this attitude of the government. The other day we saw ministers Botsa and Anil Kumar Yadav making cryptic comments against hero Nani.
But somewhere Tollywood producers have a ray of hope that for the Sankranthi big releases, the state government would relieve them. Fingers crossed!
