Karthi’s Long-delayed Film Gets Postponed Again

Hero Karthi has a good market in Telugu. Most of his films have become successful in the Telugu states as well. To cash in on his popularity down here, plans are now being made to release his old Tamil film in Telugu.

Karthi acted in a film titled Madras in 2014. Directed by Pa. Ranjith, this movie was a big hit at the box office. After its success in Tamil, the makers planned to dub it in Telugu as well.

However, the release of the Telugu dubbed version got delayed multiple times and it has been years now. Recently, the film’s production house Studio Green had announced that the dubbed version of Madras, titled ‘Naa Peru Shiva 2’ will release in Telugu during the Sankranthi festive weekend.

But now, they have announced that the release has been postponed due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country.

Already, it has been more than seven years since the Tamil version had released. So, the look and tone of the film will not be on par with the current cinematic standards. Moreover, the content may not appeal to Telugu audiences as well.

Thus, a few sources opined that it is better if makers opt for a direct OTT release. It has to be seen if they do that or not.
