Well, some of her fans have inferred already that the pretty Bollywood siren whose sizzling bikini look in Gehraaiyaan trailer impressed all, that the actress wants to do more Telugu films. But then, the lines she chose about the Telugu film industry haven’t impressed many film lovers here.
Apparently while sharing her thoughts with a Bollywood portal, Ananya shared that she loved the sizzling masala role she portrayed in Liger movie and is looking forward to such stuff. When quizzed about acting in more Telugu movies, the actress is quick to say that she loves regional cinema and will do more films there for sure.
Frankly speaking, Telugu cinema is not regional cinema anymore and it has become the new pan-Indian king, while Bollywood’s Hindi films are still going for a run only in a few Hindi speaking states. Telugu films do well not just in Telugu, but in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam too. So, one wonders what is that regional cinema Ananya is talking about.
At the same time, the roles of heroines in some Telugu films like Pushpa, Arjun Reddy, and Rangasthalam are more defined than that of many Hindi movies that have turned up in recent times. Looks like Ananya is a youngster from the latest generation but her brain got stuck with an age-old Bombay mindset.
