Ace producer Dil Raju has been lining up some big projects under his banner. One of them is a film in the combination of Thalapathy Vijay and director Vamshi Paidipally. Tentatively called Thalapathy 66, this movie is currently in the pre-production stage.
Speaking in a recent interview, Raju said that they are planning to start the shooting of this film in March. He also said that Vijay described this script as the best he heard in the last 20 years.
“Director Vamshi came up with a beautiful story. Right after hearing the plot-line, I felt that we are making one of the best films under our production house. Especially, Vijay garu said that this is the best script he heard in the last 20 years,” stated Dil Raju.
“We are planning to take the film on floors in March. If there are no disturbances due to the pandemic, we will try to release the movie during Diwali this year. If we miss Diwali, the movie will release during the Sankranti festive weekend next year,” he further added.
Raju stated that either this film or Ram Charan-Shankar’s film will arrive in the theatres during the next Sankranti. He is planning to contest in the Pongal race at any cost with either of these films.
More details about Thalapathy 66’s rest of the cast and crew are expected to be announced in the coming days.
