Badhaai Do Trailer: Fun Filled Social Drama

Bollywood has been dealing with social subjects in a humorous way for the last few years. Films like Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Badhaai Ho and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui followed the same formula. Now, Badhaai Do joins the list.

Badhaai Do is a spiritual sequel to Badhaai Ho. Rajkumar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar played the lead roles in it. The trailer of the film was unveiled about a while ago and going by it, we came to know that the film deals with homosexuality.

Rao plays the role of a cop named Shardul Thakur, who works in a Women’s Police Station. Bhumi essayed the role of a PET teacher named Suman. But of them are in their 30s and are being pressurized to get married. Suman has a girlfriend while Shardul is interested in men.

They decide to get married only to satisfy their families. How their life turned after marriage forms the major crux of the story. The trailer is filled with fun moments but it reminds us of many similar movies that came in the recent past.

Already, films dealing with social messages in a comical way are getting rejected by the audiences. It has to be seen if Badhaai Do crosses all such hurdles and emerges as a winner.

Directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni, Badhaai Do is slated for release on February 11.
