Lavanya Tripati
The self-killing of a Dalit girl Lavanya from Tamilnadu has triggered another protest on social media, as it is accused that the girl was forced to convert to Christianity from Hinduism and due to that harassment she committed suicide. But then, while posting about this, some netizens started using the hashtag #LavanyaTripathi as well, and that led to unwanted discussions.
With one netizen commenting that people should refrain from using the hashtag #LavanyaTripathi, as actresses are cheap while the Lavanya who died has given up her life for Dharma, heroine Lavanya Tripathi reacted pretty strongly.
“Why do men like you start respecting women when something horrible happens, before that they call them cheap.. Learn to respect everyone! Extremely unfortunate incident, but this is the reality of our society”, she tweeted, in reply to the netizen who made ‘cheap’ comments on her.
In fact, people should realize that every profession is the result of hard work and every success comes only after lots of hardships. For the sake of supporting Dalit girl Lavanya, it is not ethical to look down on a heroine like Lavanya Tripathi or any individual in that case. No doubt, Lavanya’s reaction has honesty and she rightly reflected the reality of our society.
