Can Suriya Repeat Nani’s Feat?

Natural Star Nani had two direct OTT releases after Gang Leader. His films V and Tuck Jagadish were premiered directly on the Amazon Prime Video. After a gap of more than two years, he had a theatrical release in the form of Shyam Singha Roy. It went on to become a super hit.

Now, star hero Suriya is in a similar situation to Nani. It has to be seen if he can manage to be successful like the Jersey actor.

If we get into the story, Suriya’s last theatrical release was Bandobast. After that, his two films, Soorarai Pottru and Jai Bhim have opted for a direct digital release. Both of them premiered on Amazon Prime Video and received wide acclaim from the audiences.

Suriya’s next release is Etharkkum Thunindhavan, which is being directed by Pandiraaj. It was initially slated for release on February 4th, but the makers have postponed it due to the third wave of the coronavirus.

For the last few days, it was being heard that even ET will go for a direct OTT release. However, the producers have confirmed the other day that it will definitely have a theatrical release. The date is not confirmed yet.

As we are now sure that ET is coming to the theatres, we have to see if Suriya can make a successful theatrical comeback like Nani.
