Bollywood star Ajay Devgn is all set to make his OTT debut with the web series Rudra: The Edge of Darkness. Backed by Disney+ Hotstar, Rudra is an official adaptation of the British TV show Luther. It is being produced jointly by BBC Studios India and Applause Entertainment.
Recently, Hotstar has dropped the trailer of this psychological crime drama. Ajay Devgn plays the role of a cop named Rudra Veer Singh who traces out psycho killers in each episode. His married life is in shatters too. How he deals with his professional and marital life forms the character arc of Rudra.
Eesha Deol played the role of Ajay’s wife. Raashi Khanna played another pivotal role in the series. The Bengal Tiger actress is making her OTT debut with this series.
The trailer has been cut slick with high tense moments and breathtaking action sequences. The makers have spent a lavish budget on the series, making it one of the most expensive web projects in India. Overall, the trailer of Rudra is thrilling and it looks like we have a good crime thriller in store.
Atul Kulkarni, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Ashish Vidyarthi played other important roles in the series. Rajesh Mapuskar of Ferrari Ki Sawari has directed the project.
All episodes of Rudra will start streaming on Hotstar from March 4.
