After Cricket, Cinema and Politics, punters are now betting on the number of Corna cases. As the Covid-19 cases are rapidly increasing with each passing day and the respective state governments are announcing the official cases.
It is reported that bettings are taking place in large numbers in places such as old Mysore, Chamarajanagar and some rural parts of Karnataka.
The betting is on the number of official cases in 24 hours. As the Karnataka state government is releasing health bulletin daily, the punters are betting that the cases would be upto 1000, upto 1500 and upto 2000.
In cities, these betting is taking place online and as soon as the health bulletin is out, the organisers are transferring money into the accounts of winners.
Meanwhile, people in rural areas are no different. Even punters in rural villages are taking part in betting. However, their bets are in smaller denominations such as Rs 500, Rs 1000. As reports of bettings on Covid are rising, police have alerted the observers and informers.
