Director Trivikram and actor Sunil are best friends from the time they didn’t make their debut in films. Both of them have made their respective entries into the film industry around the same time and carved a niche for themselves.
In his initial films, Trivikram penned beautiful roles for Sunil. We cannot forget Sunil’s characters in films like Nuvvu Naku Nachav, Nuvve Nuvve, Athadu, Mallishwari, Manmadhudu, Jai Chiranjeeva, and Jalsa. All of these films were either directed or written by Trivikram.
In the late 2000s, Sunil turned into a lead hero and stopped doing comedian roles. Though he was successful initially as a hero, Sunil couldn’t maintain that momentum for a long time. After receiving multiple flops, he started doing supporting characters once again.
After his comeback as a character artist, Trivikram offered Sunil a role in Aravinda Sametha. Later, he also gave Sunil characters in Ala…Vaikunthapurramuloo and the recent Bheemla Nayak.
But none of these characters helped Sunil in getting his old popularity back. Trivikram’s writing is not at all helping Sunil in excelling as a supporting actor.
Sunil made a cameo appearance in a song in Bheemla Nayak. But we hear that he also acted in a few scenes but they were chopped off in the final version. Thus, the film didn’t help Sunil in any which way.
Trivikram’s next directorial is with Superstar Mahesh Babu. We have to see if he can offer a meaty role for his best friend at least in that film. The shoot of this film is expected to begin very soon.
