One of the most important rules laid out in the other day issued Tickets Prices GO by Andhra Pradesh Government is that only films with ₹ 100 crores production cost and which are shot for about 20% of the total content in Andhra Pradesh state, will get the ability to hike ticket prices in the first 10 days. Other day while making some hast political counters, AP Minister Botsa Satyanarayana commented that Hyderabad is the common capital and will continue to be until 2024 as per AP Re-organisation Act 2014. Of course, that is true, but in that case, the 20% shoot logic included in AP’s new Cinema Tickets GO is not making sense at all.
Because if Hyderabad is the common capital, then all films that are being shot here are technically shot in Andhra Pradesh only. We can say that 100% of the movies are being shot in Andhra Pradesh only as long as Hyderabad remains as a Capital for Andhra people until 2024.
This logic might not be approved by the government, but legal experts say that actually it works out in the Courts. But who knows, AP Govt might alter the GO saying that 20% of the film should be shot in rural AP or other than the capital city region.
