Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda, which was released on 2nd Dec 2021, had a dream run and completed 100 days. This is a rare feat considering several factors. Firstly, the number of theatre screens has reduced and secondly, the number of movie releases has increased. Moreover, the digital OTT world, ticket rates issue, and pandemic fear, yet Akhanda can be called a miracle.
There are many good films that came in Telugu but Akhanda managed to complete 100 days, leaving fans in utter excitement in witnessing this phenomenon. Today, where 100 days is such an unexpected find, the 100 days poster of Akhanda is leaving the team proud. On a gratitude note, the makers are celebrating the rare feat at Kurnool on 12th March.
The film was commercially successful grossing over Rs150 crore at the box office. The blockbuster film became the second highest-grossing Telugu film of 2021. The whole of Akhanda tasted immeasurable triumph as the film grossed Rs100 crore worldwide in 11 days. Also, the film is the biggest grosser for NBK, almost doubling his previous best.
In comparison, Akhanda added roughly Rs. 14 crores after the release of Pushpa in the third week. With Pushpa’s pre-release craze, many thought that Akhanda would end the run for holdovers, but this movie kept going. Only in Telugu states, the film was earning more than Pushpa during the last two weeks. 2021 has been a great year for NBK. Apart from the humongous success of Akhanda, the actor also aced his show The Unstoppable and treated the audience with his hidden humour talent.
