Bollywood actors Ranveer Singh and Siddhant Chaturvedi’s hit film Gully Boy (2019) won many hearts and the duo played the role of rappers. In a tragic and unfortunate incident today, Dharmesh Parmar aka rapper MC Tod Fod, who lent his voice to the song Indian 91 for the film, passed away at the age of 24. This news left all his fans in a state of shock including Ranveer and Siddhant who mourned the rapper’s demise on social media.
Taking to his Instagram story, Ranveer shared a picture of Dharmesh with a broken heart emoticon. Siddhant also extended his condolences by sharing a screenshot of his conversation with the late rapper and wrote, “RIP bhai,” along with a broken heart emoticon. The cause of MC Tod Fod’s death has not been revealed yet and reportedly, an investigation is currently going on.
He was associated with the Mumbai based hip hop collective ‘Swadesi’. The rapper’s songs had underlying and inspiring themes such as standing up against corrupt institutions and environmental and human rights. His last released track was on March 8 titled Truth and Bass.
TodFod’s track The Warli Revolt, for which they collaborated with Adivasi activist Prakash Bhoir, stood up against the cutting of trees in the Aarey forest in Mumbai.
