One of the highest theatrical sales figures Tollywood has ever seen post the pandemic is none other than “Bheemla Nayak” which was sold for nearly ₹ 85 crores in Telugu states alone. But then, the arrival of Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR is changing many records and here comes the stunner.
According to trade circles, magnum opus RRR got sold for nearly ₹ 200 crores in Telugu states alone. This is a pretty high sales rate ever Tollywood has seen and that explains the craze around the film.
With Rajamouli at the helm, and two star heroes Ram Charan and Jr NTR leading the pack, surely such an unprecedented craze will be there, but what is shocking here is, will the film be able to recover such mammoth investment of the distributors.
Already the hiked ticket prices of the movie, where the first two shows at leading multiplexes are being sold at ₹ 700-900 / ticket, are promising almost a ₹ 100 crores gross from Telugu states alone on first day.
That brings nearly a ₹ 60 crores share value, and the film might be able to collect the total 200 crores investment in just the first week alone from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
