Bankim Chandra Chatterjee needs no introduction to Indians. This legendary writer was the one who penned our National song Vandemataram. On his 128th death anniversary, filmmaker Ram Kamal Mukherjee and former Head of Zee Studios Sujoyy Kutty announced the film 1770- Ek Sangram, which is based on Bankim Chandra’s novel Anandamath.
RRR and Baahubali writer KV Vijayendra Prasad will pen the script of this movie. The scripting works of this movie are currently going on.
Vijayendra Prasad said that he read Anandamath long back and when Sujoyy approached him with the idea of adapting it as a film, he was taken aback.
Prasad said that he thought the story will not appeal to the current generation audiences. But he was thrilled by the way director Ram Kamal explained his vision. Prasad said that Ram Kamal made it a commercial subject filled with human emotions.
Ram Kamal said that this is his dream project and he is happy to be joining hands with India’s celebrated technicians for this film.
1770- Ek Sangram will be shot in Hyderabad, West Bengal and London. The shoot is expected to start in a few months.
