Yash Raj Films Realises Their Mistake, Will It Work?

With the thinking that Hindi cinema is the ‘national cinema’ and Telugu movies are regional films, Bollywood’s big production houses and directors never thought of focusing on Southern states. Though they have thrown a stone now and then, somehow they have never focussed fully on releasing Hindi films here. But times are changing.

Actually, Akshay Kumar’s latest film “Prithviraj Chauhan” was supposed to hit cinemas in January 2022 itself but the film kept postponing itself due to Radhe Shyam and RRR waves back then. And finally, they have locked June 3rd as the release date for this film. With the movie’s release postponed for months, YRF realized their mistake and got the film dubbed into Telugu and Tamil now. Along with the Hindi version, the film will have a simultaneous Telugu release too.

Though YRF tried its hand at Telugu dubbing versions of their movies in the last couple of years, they were never serious about the release and promotional plans. But now, they are said to be seriously planning to promote the film with Akshay Kumar and the film’s debutant heroine, former Miss World Manushi Chillar most likely to lead the campaign aggressively.

And we have to see how far Prithviraj Chauhan will be impressing Telugu and Tamil audiences now.
