Apparently, the comments made by hero Nani as to why his film “Ante Sundariniki” is not getting dubbed into Kannada have gone viral and many Kannada people got hurt too. Responding on the same via Twitter, Nani clarified why he has made those comments.
Cut short to his speech at Ante Sundaraniki teaser launch, Nani stated that the film is not being dubbed in Kannada because he feels that the film will get watched by the Kannada audience in Telugu itself, as most Kannada folks understand and love to watch Telugu films in Telugu language only. However, when these comments are shared on Twitter, there is a huge outrage with many Kannadigas complaining that they don’t understand Telugu, and if Telugu heroes want their films to be seen, they have to dub into Kannada as well.
Shocked by these comments, Nani posted, “All I was expressing was my gratitude for how a lot of my films or other Telugu films were appreciated by our Kannada family there even when there was no dubbing version available. A particular answer in a press meet comes with context. Social media takes the context out”.
Of course, Nani is only about praising Kannadigas for the love they shower on Telugu movies and his intention might have got misread. At the same time, dubbing in Kannada language is a good option rather than releasing the Telugu version. Think about it, Nani.
