We all do know that legendary director SS Rajamouli has other day purchased a brand new Volvo XC 40 for himself. While the pictures of the new car and Rajamouli together have gone viral, many are wondering why the director loves only these small cars. Yes, here’s an interesting snippet.

Back then Rajamouli used to drive himself a BMW Mini Cooper which costs nearly ₹ 40 lakhs on the road. And now, he has purchased Volvo XC 40 which belongs to the same segment again and costs nearly ₹ 45 lakhs on the road. One wonders why a director of Rajamouli’s stature is using these entry-level premium cars which are even bought by many corporate employees as well.

Usually, two film old directors and heroes who score some initial success immediately end up buying a Range Rover Sport that costs nearly ₹ 1.5 crores. And super successful directors like Shankar and other big directors from Bollywood do use cars like Rolls Royce Phantom and Bentley which cost somewhere between ₹ 4-8 crores. With Rajamouli’s earnings from RRR alone standing up at more than ₹ 100+ crores, one wonders why he is buying only these small cars.

Well, a car is a car, no matter what. And legends like Rajamouli like simplicity and also small sized cars are easy to maneuver in high-traffic cities like Hyderabad.
