‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata Is A Pakka Commercial Entertainer’

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s much-awaited movie Sarkaru Vaari Paata under the direction of Parasuram is scheduled for its theatrical release on May 12th. Art director AS Prakash, who worked for the movie, has interacted with media today. Excerpts from the media interaction.

What is the genre of Sarkaru Vaari Paata?
Sarkaru Vaari Paata is a pakka commercial entertainer with all the ingredients for all sections.

What is the film all about?
Sarkaru Vaari Paata is about banking system in the country. We needed to construct a 50 years old bank. We constructed it in Annapurna Studios. An action sequence was also canned there. We also built 2 new banks. We did some research for the construction of these banks.

What’s the role of art department in making SVP?
Most of the scenes in the movie were canned in sets. We planned to shoot few street scenes in Vizag backdrop in Goa. But due to corona and other practical issues, we changed the shooting spot to a small street in Hyderabad, though we did required changes. We also erected couple of big sets for two songs.

How was your association with Mahesh Babu?
This is my seventh movie with Mahesh Babu garu. I previously did movies such as Dookudu, SVSC, Aagadu, Srimanthudu, Sarileru Neekevvaru etc. Mahesh Babu is a jovial person. He generally gives his inputs to technicians as well.

What are the changes you observed in all these days in making of films?
My first movie with Mahesh Babu was Dookudu. It was a big budgeted movie back then. I put in same efforts for my every movie. Although budgets have been increasing, we don’t demand excess budget.

What’s the impact of covid on the film industry?
Due to covid, the work and budgets have been increased. In fact, we need to construct more sets, as it’s tough to shoot outdoor.

What kind of movies, you wish to do?
I got an offer to do a periodic movie of huge scale, but I had to reject it due to my busy schedules. I want to do sci-fi films, as I’ve done enough commercial films.

What are your next projects?
I’m presently doing megastar Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar and Valther Veerayya. I’m also doing Venkatesh and Varun Tej’s F3, Balakrishna-Gopicahnd Malineni’s film. I also have a film with Mahesh Babu-Trivikram.
