RRR & KGF2 Effect: Back To Back Flops In Bollywood

Post the pandemic, of course, Bollywood has seen some phenomenal original films like Gangubhai Kathiawadi and The Kashmir Files as well, but these two are something that doesn’t fall into the category of mainstream movies owing to their content. One has Alia Bhatt doing the magic, the other has Vivek Agnihotri creating a sensation everywhere. And here comes the next.

In fact, the super success of high octane mass action movies like Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR and Prashant Neel’s versatile universe film KGF: Chapter 2, has changed things forever in Bollywood as well.

While RRR collected Rs 250 crores nett already, KGF2 posted more than 315 crores so far. Amidst this juggernaut, the likes of Tiger Shroff and Ajay Devgan failed to survive, leave the likes of John Abraham alone.

Other day releases like Runway34 which is directed by Ajay himself, has got good talk but failed to click at the box office. Simiarly Tiger Shroff’s action saga Heropanti 2, which also got the spiciest treat from Disha Patani, has also failed to click.

These films haven’t even touched the 10 crores mark on their Day 1, thus confirming themselves that they can’t outperfom RRR and KGF2. Looks like Bollywood folks are yet to get over the hangover given by South blockbusters.
