A promising business opportunity can change everything unless the people behind it are the ones who turn a simple plan into an adventure! With Husharu 2, director Sree Harsha Konuganti takes the franchise’s youthful spirit into unfamiliar territory, introducing a fresh setting where ambition meets unpredictable circumstances.
The teaser places five friends in Chittragunj, pursuing a tequila venture that soon draws them into trouble, offering a glimpse of a sequel that stretches the original film’s comic sensibility into a broader adventure.
The gang’s latest ambition is to establish what they envision as India’s first agave-based tequila distillery. Hoping to rebuild their lives after the COVID period, the friends arrive with a business plan, only to discover that Chittragunj is far more complicated than they anticipated. Their predicament gradually shifts the focus from entrepreneurship to survival, with the teaser moving towards a forest-bound escape without disclosing how the situation resolves.
This progression gives the glimpse its intrigue: the boys’ ambitions remain recognisable, but their surroundings introduce a different scale of uncertainty. The closing appearance of R. Narayana Murthy Garu adds another surprise, bringing a respected actor-filmmaker into the sequel’s unfolding world.
The film reunites Konuganti with the franchise he launched in 2018. Its ensemble features Rahul Ramakrishna, Ashok Galla, Ravi Anthony, Dinesh Tej, Sasidhar Kocharlakota, Vidhi Yadhav, Abhignya Vuthuluru, Bhagwan Tiwari, Jatin Goswami and Rajai Rowan. Produced by Rahul Varma, K. Veena Rani and K. Hanumant Raju, with Komatireddy Sharan Reddy as co-producer, the film is backed by Caveman Stories, HK Films and Kaliyuga Vaaradha Creations. Currently in post-production, Husharu 2 is targeting a year-end theatrical release.
