Abdul Kalam At 250, K Raghavendra Rao At 3000

Usually, many top sportspersons and influential people often love to write their autobiographies after achieving lots of things. In the western culture, these biographical books about actors, actresses and film people are interesting stuff all the time. Surprisingly we don’t see big Telugu legends coming up with their autobiography at any point of time.

When the likes of NTR and ANR never showed any interest to write their biographies, finally it is director K Raghavendra Rao who has come up with the idea of writing his own biography. Of course, this is not like Ram Gopal Varma’s bits and pieces of articles about his life, but KRR is said to have written lots of unknown stuff inside “Nenu Cinemaki Raasukunna Premalekha”. Though the book cover of this biography is not that attractive, KRR hinted that he will not reveal anything controversial or will not hide certain things inside the book.

Anyway, like how they have brought the autobiography of many famous persons, Telugu folks wanted to read KRR’s book too, but then, the price is a big shocker for them. This book is priced at an exorbitant Rs 3000 as if that is a benefit show ticket of a Pawan Kalyan film.

Usually, books of Chetan Bhagath are sold pretty high not only for that content, but the price is just Rs 150 to 200. And Abdul Kalam’s biography Wings Of Fire is sold at Rs 250, while tennis starlet Sania Mirza’s autobiography is kept at Rs 300 after a discount. One wonders if Raghavendra Rao has written something that is so precious and important than the biographies of these people, or if he thinks, the Telugu audience would spend that much to own a book written by a former star director.
