Kamal Haasan made a solid comeback on the silver screen with his latest outing Vikram. Since its release, this Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial has been generating a positive response and is minting a huge amount at the box office.
Already, Vikram collected over Rs. 20 crores gross on its first day in Tamil Nadu and became the third-highest opening day grosser of this year, after Valimai and Beast. On the whole, it earned a gross of over Rs. 62 crores across the world on its first day. With this feat, it joined the elite 60 crore+ day one elite gross club of Kollywood.
It continued the sensational run on the second day as well. Including Saturday collections, Vikram crossed Rs. 100 crores gross worldwide. It joined the elite 100 crore club within just two days of its run. This is the third 100-crore film of Kamal, after Dasavaratharam and Vishwaroopam.
Not only in the domestic market, but Vikram is doing well in the other countries as well. It crossed the 1 million mark in the USA within just two days. It collected more than $500k on Saturday. This is a phenomenal feat.
The only star whose Tamil movies have done more than $500K on a regular day, outside premieres or day 1 is Superstar Rajinikanth. Now, Kamal joined the club too.
In Australia, Vikram minted more than A$500K so far. Only three Tamil actors were able to join the A$500k club in Australia. They are Rajinikanth, Vijay and now Kamal. Looking at its pace, we can expect Vikram to shatter many more records in the coming days.
